Residential treatment software where the care and the claim agree

Authorizations, treatment plans, clinical notes, and claims on the same record, so the days you deliver are the days you can show and bill.

What you're managing

  • Medicaid health plans and payers, each with different rules
  • Authorizations that run out quietly
  • Denials that arrive weeks after the service

How Dacnus helps

  • Insurance coverage in coordination-of-benefits order on each resident's record
  • Authorization tracking by units approved, used, and remaining
  • CMS-1500 and 837P claim exports, and denials logged with appeal deadlines

Where residential treatment revenue leaks

A residential stay is usually billed per day against an authorization that has a start, an end, and a number of units. Revenue is lost in the gaps: an authorization that lapsed before anyone requested more, a treatment plan that was not updated in time to support continued stay, a claim sent to the wrong payer first.

Those gaps are easiest to close when intake, clinical, and billing work from one record instead of three systems that have to be reconciled by hand.

  • Coverage captured at admission

Each resident's insurance plans are recorded in coordination-of-benefits order, with authorizations attached and tracked by units approved, used, and remaining.

  • Clinical documentation that supports the stay

Treatment plans with measurable objectives are signed, locked, and versioned, next to the therapy notes and shift notes that show the care was delivered.

  • Claims out, denials tracked

Export a CMS-1500 PDF or an 837P file for one claim or a batch, and log denials with their appeal deadlines and outcomes.

Questions buyers ask

Is Dacnus an EHR for residential treatment programs?

Yes. Dacnus holds the record a residential treatment program works from: treatment plans and clinical notes, with authorizations, claims, and denials on the same record. It is built for residential behavioral health rather than adapted from a clinic or primary care system.

Which claim formats does Dacnus produce?

CMS-1500 PDFs and 837P electronic claim files, for one claim or a batch.

How are authorizations tracked?

On the resident's record, by units approved, used, and remaining, alongside the insurance plans in coordination-of-benefits order.

Which states does Dacnus work in?

Every state. Dacnus was first built and proven inside a licensed Arizona residential program and is available to residential programs anywhere in the United States. Each state names and licenses this level of care differently, and our guide to residential behavioral health licenses by state lists them.

Is Dacnus built for Medicaid-funded programs?

Yes. Each resident can carry several payers, including Medicaid health plans, in coordination-of-benefits order, with authorizations and denials tracked on the same record. Dacnus was first built and proven inside a licensed Arizona residential program.
